Another universal subject found in Ivan Minekov’s oeuvre is certainly the image of Madonna. This particular bronze evokes the scene of the flight to Egypt, whereas the entire focus is put on the female principle. The infant Jesus is only suggested among the crevasses of Madonna’s robes, while the movement of the horse and drapery suggest a constant journey forward.
