As Ivan Minekov embraces themes from mythology and history, it is not a surprise that he endeavored to create his own vision of one of the favorite literary subjects of all times. His “Don Quijote” is somewhat reminiscent of Daumier’s wavy, elongated figure, while the form cleared of colour exposes the fluctuating nature of the character’s spirit. Frail, yet determined is Minekov’s hero, as he retains his perpetually delicate state.
