The evocative composition of The Outsider features the recognisable universal female found in the oeuvre of Paola Minekov, her facial expression in dissonance with her body language. Inspired by the famous Klimt painting “The Kiss”, this artwork explores the tension between desire and inhibition. The sexual undertones of restrained passion are captured for a fleeting moment before the inevitable kiss.
